영국 싱어송라이터 아델 2집 21는 아델이 녹음 당시 나이 21를 따서 지은 것으로 노래 대부분은 아델의 헤어진 남자친구에 대한 이야기이다. 2011년과 2012년에 걸쳐 세계에서 가장 많이 팔린 앨범 30개 이상 국가에서 1위에 올라 기네스 세계 기록 2012년 판에 등록되었다. 21세기 영국에서 가장 많이 팔린 앨범이며 23주 동안 1위를 지켜 여자 가수로는 가장 오래 1위를 했다. 미국에서도 24주 동안 빌보드 200 1위를 해 1985년 이후 가장 오래 1위를 한 앨범으로, 다이아몬드 인증을 받았다. 2012년까지 21은 세계적으로 2,500만 장의 음반 판매고를 올리고있다. 21은 머큐리상 후보에 올랐었고, 그래미 상 올해의 앨범과 브릿 어워드 올해의 영국 앨범상을 수상했다.
